![]() ![]() How many times we have to start barely from scratch to managge the exact same object. No way to use mouse in both games than this few buttons in Reunion. Using left right up down arrow keys + enter + escape for menu handling is a bit odd in X3 TC/AP. Just want to point out that X3R had the ugliest sectors, almost all the sectors were duplicated.Īnd the interface in TC is a lot more improved for one reason: ![]() I don't wanna spamm the topic with all the features that makes the best X game ever. You will get better picture if you try them all p Both games have few aides for combat situations such as additional on screen informations about your targetrs in the left / right monitor. Im a multitasking type of person so X2 and X3R have really usefull features to simplify your life. Plz keep in mind this is only matter of opinion here. Both games have additional infos about almost every object ingame. The Enciklopedia and later the Stock exchange features gives you some more depths to the game but both games have serious sacrifices on menu handling and the simplified mission briefings. Mouse control is on a good path to make the game near to perfect. some ppl like to joking about it is the Microsoft game Freelancer on steroids. Ofc this depends on the objects aligment to the sector's star and other light objects. in ReunionĪnother favorite and helpfull feature is the Eclptic projector which helps you to get a virtual horizon and a cheat like side feature which makes some invisible objects as "visible". Don't let you distracted by the simple (quick) and the full (main) menu. BBS system that allows you to get few info about the storyline which makes the last time apperance in Reunion.:/Ī side note. Last of the series with really nice mission briefing and so on. With the bonus pack and all updates you given really exciting and awesome missions. Step learning cruve is FTW in the X2 with the build in "Simulator" which can gives you ideas about the menu handling, Basic economic features and few tips with how to fight Last of the series with some really unique and realistic features such as shadows on objects and nebulas/gas that actually do something with the ingame objects. well i have no significant experience there I am tempted to go back to Reunion, but I have got so used to the UI in TC ,that I will probably have to learn the game controls again. It also only has three plots to play compared to many more in TC. It is the easiest game of the series to play, but the war is never -ending. Quicker to earn credits and rep etc.,although you will still find the odd challenge or two.ĪP uses some TC files and thus is dependent on TC being installed. TC is an overhauled version of the X game-play,making it easier to learn and play. You work hard for rep and credits, but with patience you get there in the end. Reunion is a tough game, although they all have a steep learning curve.īut with Reunion, you got a better sense of achievement when you finally reached each goal that you set. Started with X- Beyond the Frontier, although the story-line goes back further. Ok.I think you get the drift of the various x-games. Sorry for the scatter-brained reply, but hopefully that at least starts to paint a picture for ya. Simply put, it "includes" reunion in the sense that the same basic universe is there, but it doesn't include it in the sense that things have change, time has passed, and there's lots of new goodies to play with. Where previously there was tension and a few flashpoints, now it has evolved into outright warfare where a handful of sectors are constantly filled with battling fleets and the like. So.the same basic universe is there, but sectors that were previously (for example) Teladi, might now have become Pirate sectors, and so on.Īlso, another big feature in AP not present in former games is the war now being waged between the Terrans and Commonwealth. The difference really is that the basic gameplay and content has evolved a lot further (some might disagree and say its devolved, but I'm avoiding that whole can of worms, I personally like AP more because of its increased user-friendliness). AP includes some nifty new features like Stock Exchanges, a better user interface (UI - menus and such, most notably the universe map, which is larger and much faster to use thanks to the way you can type in sector names and quickly get the one you want), new ships, and new sectors, etc.ĪP requires a "fresh start" too, meaning you cannot incorporate previous saves from earlier versions. The different versions of X are all basically the same thing, but with more added in each expansion. I'm sure the veterans will be along to explain it in more depth shortly, but I can give you a basic idea at least. ![]()
